Fitness Center application & rules



SEATED MASSAGE:
Every Wednesday in the Fitness Center from 12:15 pm - 3:25 pm.  Cost is $15/15 mins and $30/30 mins.  By appointment only!

JUDO:
Every Wednesday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Cost for 1 class=$10.00
2 classes=$15.00.  Classes are open to the public, however each member must join the association.

SOFTBALL:
Now is the time for organizing the 2004 IDRA D.C. Softball League.   All who desire to field a team and those wishing to play should contact AMBROSE HARRIS, III
IDRA Fitness Director on 202-208-5756 as soon as possible.

Staff
All staff members are nationally certified in personal training, aerobics instruction, and CPR.

Equipment
Our cardiovascular equipment includes: Nordic Track Ski machines, Schwinn AIRDYNE bicycles, Concept II rowing machines, Monark adjustable-resistance stationary bicycles, Tectrix recumbent and upright stationary bikes, Reebok Elliptical Cross-Trainers, Tectrix Stair-climbers and Trotter Treadmills. The weight room consists of Cybex weight machines, dumbbell free weights and incline/decline weight benches.

Classes
A variety of exercise classes are offered every day. See  class schedule and class descriptions for more info.

Basketball
The Fitness Center offers a full basketball court. See  schedule for restrictions on full and half-court basketball play.

Fitness Testing and Programming
All staff members are qualified to administer our standard fitness test (see link above) and to help members plan an appropriate fitness program. Staff members also give orientations to the weight room—call or stop in to make an appointment.

Lockers

The lockers in the locker rooms are for day use only.  Any locks left overnight will be removed by IDRA Management.

Fitness and Health Information
Handouts and bulletin boards offer wellness information. While any person with questions should consult their physician, the Fitness Center staff members are available to discuss certain fitness issues. Staff members also welcome feedback regarding exercise classes or other Fitness Center issues.

Running/Walking Outside
Fitness Center members have permission to exit via parking garage ramps G and D with I.D. A memo with specific information is posted in the Fitness Center.

Becoming a Member
To sign up for membership, you must fill out the forms on the link above (physician’s consent is not necessary for everyone—ask staff if you are unsure) and bring them to the Fitness Center. There is a $10.00 initiation fee, plus the fee for IDRA membership if you are not a current member. You may pay fees by credit card, cash, or check.
